South-South Governors meets to set up own regional security outfit, development commission
The governors of the six states in the South-south geopolitical zone of the country are meeting in Asaba, the capital of Delta state today. Sources at the venue confirm that Governors of Edo, Delta, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa are already in Asaba for the meeting. The attendance of Rivers and Cross-River governors cannot however be confirm as at press time. The meeting which is the first since the election of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the Chairman of South-South Governors Forum is billed to address developmental and security issues affecting the oil-rich region.
